Jessica Peacock:
I fell in love with the dance music scene during my collegiate years at the University of Miami, where I was involved with the award-winning on-campus radio station, WVUM 90.5fm. I quickly realized there was so much more to music than what was played through mainstream airwaves; I felt like I was part of something special. I began to research various sites and blogs for the hottest music and I became quite good at it. My skill earned me the title of “Best Rotation Show” at the radio station my final year. Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to discovering new music and sharing it with others. I’ve been writing for various media outlets for a couple of years, but finally decided to take on a bigger task-creating a “lifestyle” that involves connecting with new people and old friends, learning about technology and its dynamic role in society, listening to all kinds of lovely music, and celebrating this glorious life.

There are 3 things I’ve always been: a writer, a musician, and a geek. This is where they collaborate. Ever since I first heard techno, I’ve felt it in my blood, and have since devoted myself to its cultivation. Long nights-turned-mornings shared with fellow dance floor sound cadets are one of the best things in the world. I thrive with the assistance of friends, philosophy, dogs, and good food. My goal in life is to change the music industry through the conjoined power of music and technology while keeping creativity as my top priority – I create because I have to. There’s nothing I love more than being transported into different dimensions by music and sharing that experience and energy with others who feel the same.

My relationship with dance music began right here in Detroit at Movement a few years go. And since then, I have not looked back. I am a music consumer, but I have never been one to just sit on the sidelines and watch. I took what I know and found a more “hands on” approach to the scene—writing. So, here we are!
Music is meant to be shared, so that is what I strive to do. So everyone can have access to the sounds I simply cannot live without. And Robotic Peacock is just that—a place where we can create and everyone can participate.
