Eating His Way Through Detroit: Eats Everything in the D

Eating His Way Through Detroit: Eats Everything in the D

This past Saturday, British DJ and producer, Eats Everything, made his TV Lounge debut with a set that kept us dancing—all night dancing (pun intended).

Eats Everything (aka Daniel Pearce) hailed the Red Bull Music Academy stage at Movement Detroit last year in 2015 and we have been eagerly awaiting his return to the Motor City ever since.

His production and DJing style is as unique as his personality that, according to Resident Advisor, has begun to define “an entirely new strand of forward-thinking underground music.”

And that is exactly what we got a taste of this weekend.

Picture this… You walk down the street into TV and are immediately greeted with funky tunes blasting through the speakers. Mister Joshooa warmed up the decks that evening. To say “in style” would be an understatement. His mixing was on point and the song selection was truly perfect. And, to top it all off, he was mixing both vinyl and digital. Mister Joshooa truly got the crowd going and ready for Eats Everything.

So, when Eats Everything finally stepped up to the decks, the crowd was more than excited. To say the least, he absolutely shredded it. Phenomenal music that kept the inside stage packed the entire evening. The only time you saw anyone venturing outside was for a drink refill or a quick smoke break.

When he mixed in Dancing (Again!), nearly everyone in the crowd reacted in one way or another. This, truly, was refreshing to see—the crowd filled with fans and music lovers alike, there for one purpose, to listen to some great music. He even looked like he was having a lot of fun- both mixing and interacting with the crowd.

As far as Movement pre-parties go, this was one for the books. Don’t forget to get your tickets early for the next party with Hot Since 82 and Chuck Daniels on May 13th. We’ll see you there!
