RPM #5: Luke Hunter
One of the things we’re most thankful for today is techno and the power it has to unite people all over the world. We present to you the newest mix in our RPM (Robotic Peacock Mix) Series by none other than our friend Luke Hunter of SanedracHunter. We interviewed the duo for our 4/20 special, and Luke caught us up on what they’ve been getting into since:
Since 4/20 been just working a lot – updated some acoustics in the studio recently and getting back to producing. Recently released a remix of SpinnZinn‘s “Pickle It,” a remix I started back in 2011 actually. Also been traveling a bit – was at Burningman in Sept. and also got to play at Harlot in SFO right before Burningman as duo SanedracHunter, then later I met with Franccesco in San Francisco in October to play at Burningman Street Decompression. Also went to NY and played b2b with SpinnZinn at TBA in Brooklyn. Thanks to Sam Jasperson and also continuing my residency at Blowup Wednesdays at Treehouse in Miami.
Right now, working on a new project with Zinn and Franccesco (more details coming soon) and the next thing on the horizon is Art Basel. I’m hosting Art Indulgence (a 5-year running theme event we started originally at Moonchine) and now pairing the event to team up with artist Lloyd Goradesky for Gator In The Bay. Basically it’s a massive floating barge with a gator head mounted on a crane and this year they attach the full body of floating mosaic tiles to make over 200 foot long gator floating in Biscayne Bay. My part of the party will be hosting on Sat. Dec. 7th and it’s a FREE family friendly, all welcome, event from noon till midnight. Come check out the free food and drinks along with fire performers and DJs! Doing open decks noon-5pm then continuing 5-midnight with DJs set from myself, SpinnZinn, and Club Space resident Allan Gallego.
For the mix, I have been traveling and on the road a lot and also gathering so much new music recently that I wanted to make a studio mix to really gatherer a variety of tracks – some new releases and a few older – to make a blend and energy from what my ears have been wrapped around recently. It’s definitely intended to be a journey with a gradual take off and cruise with some more dancing and aggressive sounds leading into a gradual landing – kinda like a airplane flight. Hopefully you get the sense of a journey and travel a bit through the sounds.
