Top 5 After Parties during Movement Detroit 2018

With Movement festival comes epic after parties! Whether you’re trying to get lost in the depths of dark techno or enjoy the bright beats of disco, there’s a party for everyone during Detroit’s city-sanctioned Techno Week. Serving as your unofficial guide during Movement weekend, the crew at Robotic Peacock has picked 5 after parties that we recommend, varying in style, location, price and more. No matter what party you choose, you can’t go wrong during this magical weekend in the D.

Viva La Resistance IV
Friday, May 25 at Motor City Wine
Free before 9, $10 after, $8 presale
Tickets
It’s hard to imagine a better way to kick off Movement weekend than a Deep House Disco party hosted by the Rocksteady Disco crew. Pontchartrain just crushed Temple bar with Eli from Soul Clap to launch the spciy Citlamina EP. Moonlighter’s debut EP is hot off the presses and is absoutely amazing. Peter Croce is freshly moved back in the Motor City after living in Chicago and extensive travels through Asia. Hazmat will be doing a live set, so expect an acid washed disco funk dance party. Check out Blair French’s new relase and La Fleur’s firey edits. There’s also a limited vinyl relase dropping at the party….what we’re trying to say is all these guys have tons of killer fresh tunes and will be coming correct to kick Movement weekend off in style!

Where are my Keys?
Monday, May 28 at Marble Bar
$40 presale
Tickets
This was the Memorial day weekend party to watch back in the early winter months. Move D in the D. Omar-S’s only set of Movement weekend. There’s been building hype around this one, especially after the legendary Need I Say More is officially no more. DJ Minx b2b Ataxia are the kind of pairings that really make sense on a slamming sound system in the wee orders of the morning. They are sure to give visitors a real tase of Detrot. Other local heros,Todd Modes b2b Blair French, will likely keep it  more chill while pushing some boundaries. You’ve got the funky Miami disco vibes from Electric Pickle legends of past and present, Eli (Soul Clap) b2b Bamboozle. The fact Osunlade, Tama Sumo, Marvin + Guy have not been mentioned yet in an after party lineup speaks volumes. We at Robotic Peacock are really looking forward to dancing with Invisible City Sound System and Sadar Bahar for the first time. With 19 hours to fit 16 slots across 2 seperate areas, you can bet everyone will have time to stretch out. You’ll wish you hit that pre order if you sleep on this…and don’t sleep on this.
